My Philosophy on Life

We wouldn't be seen dead here in the day 

I guess you're lucky its dark now

This two lines means that teenagers are very different when it come in the day and by dark they would show their true self that they are hiding from the others.

White Teeth Teens is pretty much talks about how different  teenage society is. It shows how separated young adults are; the popular and the not so popular. Its called White Teeth Teens because tit is usually the epitome of being clean and popular. This song is very powerful to young adults especially the ones who is having difficulties fitting in.

Banquo

My life was luxurious. I was the general in the former king Duncan's army. We won the battle against Norway with Macbeth's heroic doings was assigned Thane of Cawdor hereafter. Macbeth and I met three weird sisters that has given us prophecies of our future. One of them being Macbeth ycleped the Thane of Cawdor. They also said he would be king. That is impossible, King Duncan has a son, Malcolm. I have always hated the saying that curiosity killed the cat, and hated even more when the cat was me. I have also asked the weird beldom sisters my fate. Their riddles were hard to solve. They have said I shalt get kings. This weird sisters are not making sense. Shortly after, the king died in the hands of his own chamberlains but I think there is more to this facinerious event. Now I started to believe the weird sisters. Does this mean my children would be kings? Macbeth, my dearest friend. Well, I thought you were. I knew that it was your doing all along as my son, Fleance, and I were attacked. You've acted strange after the prophesies were told. I choose to ignore it, and thought that I was thinking irrationally. I hope you'll recognize your wrong doing Macbeth.  

Superstition & the Supernatural

Groom not allowed to see the bride before th ceremony

Origin - this started when arranged marriage were costum. The wedding is kind of a business deal between two families. The father of the daughter feared that if the groom saw his wife-to-be and found her unattractive, he would call off the wedding. It will then bring shame to the bride's family. This tradition started so the groom would not be able to change his mind. 

Today - Although arranged marriage are not common, many still continue this tradition. They find it exciting and memorable. In some countries, they believe that the marriage won't last long if they saw each other before the ceremony. 

Opening umbrellas indoors

Origin - the origin of this superstition is not official but some say it was during early Egyptians. Back then, the umbrella was used to protect nobalities or religious leaders from the sun. Opening one indoors or under a shade would often offend the God of Sun and would rain the person with bad luck. In the 18th century in London, waterproof umbrellas were invented and they were large. Opening it inside could cause injury or breaking furniture inside which could result to anger and arguments among family or friends. 

Today - we still follow this superstition and still believe that it would bring bad luck. 

Lucky 8

Chinese culture often relies on luck when it comes to life or business. The number 8 is similar pronunciation of prosperity in Chinese therefore it is considered good luck.

I wanted us to be rescued. To be civil while we wait, but I knew it won't stay that way when I saw the beasts emerge from their dens. All was well in the beginning. Ralph was in charge and chief, but that also didn't tarry. I saw the littluns struggling to reach the fruits hanging from the high branches, so I helped them. When I walked in to the depth of the forest, the creepers had woven a mat that hung at the side of an open space. I found a thick jungle glade; full of beautiful flowers, birds, and butterflies. I sat down after I made sure that I was alone. Looking around, astonished by the abundance and beauty of life that is surrounding me. I had wished I could stay longer.

 After Sam and Eric reiterate their claim of seeing the beast, we armed ourselves with wooden spears and set out into the mountains. Only Piggy and the littluns were left behind. I volunteered to go back and tell Piggy and the littluns that the group won't be back until late at night. Then, I went back to the clearing, but instead of seeing the beautiful nature, I found the sow's head impaled on a stake in the middle. It spoke to me. Its mouth moved and spoke. He said I couldn't escape him even if I try, for he lies within all human being. It also promised that he will have "fun" with me. I was aghast and everything went black. The air was dark and humid when I woke up. Looks like there's a storm coming. Climbing up a hill, I saw the thing that the other has mistaken as a beast. It was just a dead pilot still attached to the parachute. My stomach failed me and bile came out of my mouth. I took the parachute, desperate to prove the others about what they thought was a beast. When I have arrived to tell the boys, they started calling me the beast. ME! But I wasn't. I tried to tell them that it was me and about the dead pilot. But they couldn't hear me through their wild state and started tearing me apart with their bare hands. Even Ralph and Piggy are involve; screamed, struck, bit, and tore me. Now I understood what the pig meant. 

Getting to Know You

My mother immigrated here, to Canada, when I was only 6. At a young age, I understood why my mother left; she needed to work for me. Being middle class wasn't enough to succeed in the Philippines, and for that she flew to Canada. My mother became the pedestal of my dad and i's life.

After 4 years of waiting, my dad and I can finally move to Canada. My parents have 2-3 jobs from the beginning till now. This is what my parents do everyday to keep a roof above our heads. They never really finished college since the tuition is like buying a Ferari. No parents wants their children to struggle in the future, that is why my parents want me to work and study hard. They always tell me that if I want something, I need to work hard for it. My parents do not want me to repeat what they did and have to work 2 jobs. I know I am not the smartest person and this worries me and often leave me wondering, "where would I be in 5-10 years later?"

Honestly, no one know what tomorrow or 10 years from now would be like. I, for one, would love to travel the countries I dream to visit. My goal is to finish university and have a stable job. Even though birth scares me, I would like to have 2 children maximum and a relationship like my parents. I will always be appreciative of my mother for shaping the way I am now and in the future.
